TOGETHER WE CAN ACCOMPLISH SO MUCH
Thank You MES Families!
With your support we have been able to make some lasting improvements at MES and meet teacher needs not covered by the school district! Projects have included:
Playground improvements (on going)
Spin-on-me, large saucer swing, 2 more in-ground basketball hoops for the playground as well refreshing the supply of recess balls, hula hoops, and jump ropes twice a year.
Library Books (2021) - With the abrupt end to the school year last year, many library books didn't make it back to MES, leaving our library depleted of some of its most popular titles. Since Read-A-Thon couldn't happen as usual, we re-directed those funds this year to restore the MES library's book collection. Books purchased with these funds will have a sticker saying "Thank You PFA" in the front cover. Keep reading MES!
Xylophones (2020) - We purchased 6 xylophones to replace MES's xylophones that were starting to come apart and were broken, fulfilling a specific request from our music teachers. We hope MES students enjoy these xylophones for years to come!
Library shelving (2019)
Money raised from our after school club program was used to purchase two large bookshelves that put the picture books at students' eye level with more space so book selection is much easier for MES's youngest readers.
Cello Racks (2019) - With so many young musicians playing the cello, MES needed more space to store their instruments and save the cellos from being on the hallway floor. Our PFA partnered with the NA music department to purchase 2 more cello racks so MES now has 3 cello racks.
Bike Shed (2018)
The health and physical education teachers needed space to
house 50+ bikes for our 4th & 5th-grade Biking Unit and through various fundraising efforts we were able to install a Bike Shed!
Outdoor Classroom/Pavillion (2017)
Our biggest project ever - it took several fundraisers, but the MES PFA was able to build an outdoor classroom/pavilion with tables - providing an outdoor classroom space and much needed shade on our playground.
International & Sensory Garden (2017)
We've planted and maintained a beautiful garden outside the first grade classroom and kindergarten hallway windows. Students made mosaic flags (2018) with glass pieces in their art classes to show the many countries represented in the MES community, and benches with seasonal mosaic artwork too!
